Bike Ride to Solon

We had eight riders gather at Tait Cummins Field trailhead, ready to depart for Solon at 9:30 AM. The weather was perfect, 61 degrees with a two-mph breeze. Our destination in Solon was the Oak Grove Brewery, where we stopped for a relaxing lunch.
Following lunch, we headed back towards Cedar Rapids, but in Ely, Dan and Debbie’s ice-cream called out and we had to stop. We walked in right behind a rather large group of Kirkwood students, who were on a field trip, so the stop ended up being a little longer than we had planned.
The only negative on the ride was Denise’s flat tire on our return trip, just before Hoover Park.
Ruth performed a rescue via automobile, and we all made it back safely to Tait Cummins.
