Ride the Districts (MPO Bike Ride) of Cedar Rapids Recap

Twelve members of the EISC joined the Metropolitan Planning Organization tour of the existing and future bike trails in Cedar Rapids and Marion.
The ride began in the little park just north of the Sag Wagon with free t-shirts, a trail presentation and a meet and greet. The group rode the trail north along the urban trout stream looking rather dapper in the new bike shirts sourced by Todd. The tree canopy made for a comfortable ride.
Enroute, we learned about the new woman’s hair style called the “fun and flirty”. It goes well with a bicycle helmet. Remember you heard it here first folks. Stay tuned for more grooming tips like the new Vise Grip nose hair removal tool.
The route continued past Rockwell under the Blairs Ferry underpass, south to Oakland and west to the underpass at First Ave to Calvary Cemetery. At Calvary we learned about the final phase connecting to the Menards trail at Hwy 100. We finished the ride at the Sag Wagon sitting out on the deck next to the lake with adult beverages and discussing our good fortune.
A fun time was had by all and a calendar event worthy of next year.
