Annual Corn Roast

The annual Corn Roast on August 16th was a steamy one on the farm. Even with the heat there was a great turnout of over 60 people. Members and guests took advantage of the awesome shade of the 100 year old sycamore tree and a southern breeze. The food, sweet corn and company was great as always! Thanks to Ruth Van Tol for bringing the corn from Fairfax Sweet Corn. It’s the best corn! We had great helpers pitch in to husk the corn. It was done in no time!
Board members Steve Cummings and Rosanne Van Cura led a brief club update meeting and announcements. We will have sweatshirts available to purchase, but it was too hot to generate much interest yet. But they will feel good this fall. Thanks to Dale Bohrer for hauling the grill - with an emergency tire change enroute this year.
