The wind was brisk, and the temperature started off in the low 50’s, but five hearty club members enjoyed a lovely fall day on the Hoover Trail. We rode from Tait Cummings Sports Complex to Solon, which was 29 miles round trip. Our trip had a slight delay to its start due to the Hot Cider Half Marathon, 10K and 5K on the trail.
I had never been on this trail before and found it to be an easy and beautiful ride, especially riding into the wind on an ebike! We enjoyed lunch at Big Grove and by the time we headed back to Cedar Rapids, temperatures had warmed enough to shed our cooler weather clothing—and yes, we still had appropriate clothing on because after all, we weren’t in Portland, Oregon (home of the Naked Bike Ride).
Thank you to those who joined me, and I look forward to planning another clothing mandatory bike ride in the future, maybe yet this fall.
