Chicago Metropolitan Ski Club (CMSC) Ski Seminar

Saturday October 11th, Todd Eadie and Tim Gull attended the annual Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council ski seminar in Chicago. There were 61 clubs, including EISC, under the CMSC umbrella that attended the seminar from states of IA, IL, IN, MS, NB, MI, IN and WI. The first three hours we collected information from exhibitors ranging from ski resorts, tour operators, and other ski industry players. We also had the opportunity to meet members from other ski clubs and Board members of CMSC.
After a lunch break, the last three hours of the CMSC Ski Seminar included breakout sessions that covered topics such as trip planning, club growth, business of running a club, and navigating the CMSC website. There was a big discussion of running combined trips with other clubs. The benefits would include skiing at different locations, meeting new people, learning new practices from partner clubs, and ultimately filling extra spots to get comp from the tour operators. The goal is to take this information and add to our club experience.
