A
fter an earlier rainstorm, on an evening that actually turned out remarkably clear, two members (Bill and Jill Clark) joined about a thousand other fireworks fanatics for good music by Well Lit and an entertaining pyrotechnics display. The band provided a terrific show, playing music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s; many people just couldn’t hold it in, and were dancing in the aisles. We were fortunate enough to run into some people that we hadn’t seen for 25 years, so it was nice to catch up with them. No fireflies were spotted, but the fireworks show lasted about 20 minutes, and there were many oohs and aahs throughout the course of the show. In the famous words of the long-suffering Chicago Cubs fans, “Just wait until next year!”
