Herman, Missouri is the destination for our fall, drive yourself, three night sight-seeing, touring, and bike ride trip. Herman is a picture book village where 19th-century brick buildings hug the sidewalk as they do in Germany. It was voted Missouri’s most beautiful small town as well as being the birthplace of Missouri’s wine country. So whether you enjoy, biking, shopping, touring the wineries, or just sitting back and relaxing for a long weekend along the banks of the Missouri River, come join us for a long weekend and stay in either Historic Harbor Haus B & B, or hook up with your friends for camping.
The Katy Trail is just across the river from Herman so it’s easy to get to. And at 250 miles long, it’s the longest “rails to trail” in the US extending from St Louis to Kansas City. You can bike one or two days or just tour all the wineries. And of course there are many good dining establishments around the area to also enjoy. Hermann is an easy 4 Hour Drive directly south of Cedar Rapids mostly on four-lane highway.
There are just 10 hotel rooms and 9 campsites reserved. One room (1Q + 1 daybed) is still available at the Harbor Haus Hotel. Plenty of camping is available. If you are interested, you need to get your reservation in to Dwayne soon. The hotel room option is based on two people per room. So try to find a roommate before signing up, or we will do our best to match you up with someone else going as long as we get an even number. Or, you can reserve one of the 9 full hookup campsites. The park rules are one RV or two tents per campsite.
We will be visiting Stone Hill Winery on Saturday. That night we will have a wine and cheese party (bring your own wine) at the Harbor Haus.
