Food Drive for Linn Community Food Bank at November 21 meeting

Once again EISC will be collecting food and monetary donations to benefit the Linn Community Food Bank.   The Linn Community Food Bank provides a 3 day emergency supply of food to families in need on a first come/first served basis.   Families may visit the Food Bank up to 6 times a year. 

Monetary donations are welcome and encouraged.   Many of the local grocery stores, in particular HyVee, provide goods to the food bank at cost.   So each dollar donated will generate even more food than what each of us can buy on our own and deliver.    And your check, payable to Linn Community Food Bank, can be claimed as a charitable donation on your tax return.   

Items needed are:

• Canned corn, green beans, peas, fruit, applesauce, pork & beans, soup, canned tuna and meat.
• Creamy peanut butter, instant mashed potatoes, instant pudding, pasta and sauce, macaroni & cheese, saltine crackers, corn muffin mix, pancake mix.
• Toilet paper and bar soap

Food items not acceptable:   Cannot accept expired or perishable items, badly damaged or dented containers, glass containers, or home canned foods.
